Using the Sustainor As a Pre-amp

Post by rbc »

I'm curious how many of you have used the Rockman Sustainor as a pre-amp for another guitar amp. Something like this:

Sustainor Effect Send -> Amplifier Effect Return

The idea is to use the Sustainors pre-amp, compressor and smart gate, but use a traditional guitar amp power section plus speaker.

Thoughts?

If.you are goig to do that, run it into the input since you will need the gain stage of your amp...... unless ypu are goig to crank the amp for output tube distortion.

I use a Rockman Compressor and MXR 6 band EQ with my JVM HJS... works pretty good!

I was thinking about using effects in between the Sustainor and Amp, including overdrive/distortion effects. I can see driving another amps pre-amp too. I haven't tried bypassing a traditional amp pre-amp yet. I don't have the equipment at the moment.
