Now you're getting picky! Last month some moron was selling a prototype Rockman ULTIMATUMr preamp... everyone knows that doesn't exist!!!

I guess that is true.
You never know what SR&D produced before they sold to Dunlop.
This may in fact be the ultra rare Soloist pedal!

Well the only Rockman relics I haven't been able to find are the "Barry Goudreau in a box" and the "Fran Sheehan in a box" prototypes. Apparently, both of them disappeared around 1980!

Someone at musicgoround.com probably saw these recent Soloist sales on eBay:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-80s-RO ... 7675.l2557

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-80s-RO ... 7675.l2557

I'm not sure what these buyers were thinking, unless they mistook them for X100's.

I am always amazed at what some people pay for items on eBay. I mean, some moron just sold a phantom prototype Rockman Ultimatum preamp for thousands! :D

If the Soloist from musicgoround.com was refurbished, the $199 price would be a little more tolerable, although still a bit high. It does have the Rockadapter with the battery cover attached.

Yeah... that seller is a complete moron!!! Although for the record, the ULTIMATUMr prototype is real!!!

;)

It's a crap shoot out there. I stumble upon a lot of these treasures by accident due to the high volume I deal in and because a lot of people come directly to me to buy or help them sell their stuff.

Also, the "less than savvy" buyers and sellers aren't necessarily a bad thing. If it allows you to get a great deal as a buyer, WIN! And if it makes you a big profit as a seller, WIN! A couple years ago, several Japanese buyers were paying $1000 or more for Stereo Echoes. A couple sellers made out big and the price of Stereo Echoes soared for a while from an average of $300 to $400-500!
