Is anyone out there capable of converting an XPR to XPRa?RockmanCentralBob wrote:My Rockman XPRa with the compressor bypass and Ultimatum mods is nice and quiet with plenty of gain.GuitarBuilder wrote:I find the XPRs too noisy to record with. I much prefer my Rockman Module setup.

Yes, Bob Cedro at MXR (if he has the time). But why not just put a Smart Gate (Rockman or MXR) in the effects loop along with an EQ, Stereo Chorus (if you need the LONG CHORUS), Stereo Echo, and control it with a MIDI Octopus? Problem solved!

Well, in fairness, there's a lot more going on with the XPRa mod than just simple quieting.
Besides, adding a Smart Gate won't take care of the noise floor, only hide it while you are playing.
But that comes at a price... notes that are fading out will get cut a little... ie- you will lose some sustain.
Rather than try to get an XRR modded into an XPRa, I would just look for an XPRa.
I have a really nice XP100a in great shape if you're interested....NOS speakers and all.
But, it won't be cheap....

I was afraid you'd say that!
