Distortion Generator- whoa

Post by Fdesalvo »

Just took delivery of a DG of the 1988 vintage and recapped it. Very easy procedure on these. This is the Rockman sound I was expecting from the Sustainor. It gets incredibly saturated and has a surprisingly low noise floor. The autoclean function boosts the volume and saturation noticeably - something I wasn't expecting, but man what a tone! The only negative for my current rig is the location of the input jack, but I can overcome that by whipping up a long overdue patch bay for my desk. I'm tempted to sell the Sustainor and scoot this guy into the rack space beside the GEQ. I don't use the clean channel at all.

I'm very pleased with my DG. It's definitely an under appreciated amp simulator.

Indeed. Turns out this is a large board model. The seller was unaware of what these are worth, I reckon. Very rich distortion with that Rockman sheen on it.
