midi pedal

Post by SalaTar »

cleaning up my midi pedal:
My pedal and a 1 cab got nailed in a flood a few years back :(
In cleaning the pedal I noticed the switches have 2 "contact disks", one is oblong (spring like), other is actual round contact disk(this seems added after the fact with the spring).
What is orientation of of oblong ? I've done it both ways. One seems "silent" vs "click"..

figured it out:
had to pull apart xpr as well(buttons unresponsive). Seems back in the day they used some compound that was rather corrosive to contacts. use dow 111)

dont Ever spray a contact cleaner in these!
pop the lid, clean contacts with scrape, flip round disk or clean , Watch out for spring loss, cover has flat side match it up!!

91% alcohol only. plastic is weak

I repaired both of mine, I just cleaned the disk with Deoxit and flipped the disk.. works great.
