Substitute for a Rockman Stereo Chorus

Post by cmackaye06 »

This could be a dumb question, but does anyone know of a decent substitute for a Rockman stereo chorus? I know since Tom’s is custom built nothing out there will sound identical.

Rack mount, or stomp box?

One that comes to mind is the MXR Stereo Chorus (M134). It doesn't have the mix controls like the Rockman Stereo Chorus, but it has both eq and chorus controls. It's also "stereo" rather than dry and wet outputs. The stereo image is fixed though, so you don't have as much control of the stereo image in the mix downstream.

Thanks for the suggestion. While watching reviews on YouTube for this pedal, I ran into the MXR analog chorus, aka M234. Would you say it’d also be a decent substitute? I figured I should get some feedback to make sure I’m making the right choice? Thanks.

I don't think that one provides a stereo mix. I think it's just a dry and wet output. You have to add your own mix with outboard gear unless you like the wet/dry sound.

There's an upcoming reproduction of the Rockman Stereo Chorus in pedal format by GOAT in Japan. Status updates of the project are posted here: https://www.tcgakki.com/otoku/?n_pk=3688

GOAT released a repro of the Distortion Generator last year and forum members seemed to receive it favorably.

I was wondering if they’d recreate anymore rockmodules. Cant wait to see how it sounds
