Hi All,
I have never replaced a surround before.
Has anyone on this forum done a surround replacement on these?
Is there a P/N out there that will work on the stock Pyle speakers?
I have pulled the stock Pyle speakers out and replaced with Kickers,
and they actually sound pretty stinkin nice!
But, never really happy with half done, I would really like to fix these!
Any help would be appreciated!
All the Best!
Doug

I bought the kit from simply speakers and plan to do the surrounds during the next week or so. I will video or photo the process and let you know how it turns out!

Standard 6.5" Foam Speaker Repair Kit FSK-6.5 (PAIR)
This is what Simply Speakers recommended to me.
Note: I have not yet done the repair so I can’t tell you how it worked out yet.

Re: XP100a Speaker Surround Replacement (Pyle)
Thank You on all counts!
Thanks for the supply chain AND the hopes to see you teach me something... I can always use some of that...:)
This is the first SRD stuff I have ever had and honestly, due to rarity and expense, I allow it to intimidate me!
OK... SCARES me is a bit closer...
I guess as I go through my little collection for maintenance and repairs I will get up my courage, but so many
times I have been bitten by things breaking while I am enroute to fixing the original issue!
Please tell me I am not alone! Old nylon just gets brittle and my real fear is a trace lifting or somehow
wrecking something I cant replace. Ya know?
THANKS AGAIN!
Doug

Re: XP100a Speaker Surround Replacement (Pyle)
Just an update: I did start working on the surround replacement on the Pyle 6.5s. So far I have removed the gasket (which will be reused) and remove the last traces of the old foam. Today I plan to glue the new surround to the cone.
I am only doing one speaker to learn the process. I recording video of the processes so I can post that for anyone else that wants to take it on.
Al lot of this job is working with a utility knife so you need a good one of those and need to be careful not to slip and cut yourself or the speaker!
