I came across these two DIY guitar pedals. If you like the feel of a soldering iron in your hand and you don't mind getting your hands dirty you can now build your own Rockman'ish pedals. The Rock Star Distortion emulates the typical Rockman sound and the Proposition Distortion is a clone of the Ultimatum Distortion Generator.

I built the Rockstar and with some turning of the knobs it sounds similar to a Soloist that I have. Nice thing is your not stuck with set sounds as you have some control with the knobs plus it's made for a guitar amp. I've used it on a couple of small amps with generally clean settings.
I haven't started the UDG clone yet but it's on the to do list ;)

The Rockstar was a pretty straight forward and easy build. Incidentally it is a copy of an existing pedal found here along with some sound clips.

I've held off on the UDG build because of the compressor circuit. The original FET used is long out of production and costs $$$ to purchase one. I'm looking into other ways to get around this and use a more available FET. The compressor circuit is a part of the Rockman sound so I want to get as close as I can to making one work.

Thanks for posting this. The Proposition Distortion is interesting. It’s tempting I would say.
