Opinions on Modifications?

I know people here have modded their devices add features like smart gates and fx loops to increase their functionality, but what would you guys say is a general no no (besides sanding off the face of a module) when making mods? I wanted to remove the power cables off of my midipedals and replace them with these female connectors (https://www.futurlec.com/Pictures/IECMALESOCKSW.jpg). Thoughts?
