Re: Complete original Rockman headphone amplifier collection!!!
If you ever attempt to complete a nice collection, the biggest challenges I experienced were:
1. finding original Rockman enclosures in nice condition (especially, a Version II!)
2. acquiring a REV9 X100 (there are plenty of REV8s and either REV10 version but not so many REV9s!)
3. acquiring a Tenth Anniversary X100 (this was not a priority for me until I had the opportunity to acquire a MINT one!)
NOTES:
Original battery doors in nice condition are getting harder to find!
Many of the original Rockmans are missing the internal metal square attached to the channel selector that engages the compressor in DIST and EDGE. Not only does that make the unit incomplete but it usually makes the unit sound crappy!
The late model X100 with the side jack is the most coveted but also the easiest to acquire since they made so many of them. If you wait long enough, you can still find a museum piece!

Yeah, I am glad that my Rockman Model I has the metal square.

Re: Complete original Rockman headphone amplifier collection!!!
I just bought a Model II and a version 9 X100 that is in mint condition, in the original box, though no headphones. I wish it had the side jack.
Can one use any 6.4 volt DC adapter with these, or does it HAVE to be a SR&D? I know the jack is a bit different than normal.
Anyhow, great collection. I've seen it while scouring the internet.

The SR&D side power supplies are 6 volt +/- so it's unlikely you'd find a generic version. Therefore, take care of your side adapters if you can acquire them! Another solution is to purchase the ROCK SUPPLY from Dwight Baker at B5 Amplification. Not sure if he mass produced them yet but they provide 6 volt +/- in a much sturdier format!

That's a nice collection, thanks for sharing!
+1 on the power supply from B5 Amplification, I installed one in an older Rockman and it worked perfectly.

Darth,
Are you my father?
FYI Dwight at B5 makes both the internal power supply and the separate ROCK SUPPLY, which serves the same functions as the 6 volt +/- power adapter in a much sturdier format.
Or you can cowboy up and get an XPR or XP100 but I digress...
Very respectfully,
Sunburst
