Ashly SC-50 Compressor

I've been digging into the roots of the pre-Rockman Boston rig used by Tom Scholz. It looks like for a time, he used the Ashly SC-50 Compressor. I was curious if anyone else is aware of other compressors that were used before the Rockman era?

I think they used something like this back in the 1970s to squeeze out all the goodness:

Is that an early Dyna Comp? ;)
