anyone know what triggers boston uses live and what module they might be using for the sounds?

I remember hearing something about an Oberheim DMX that Tom had nicknamed the "Dummy-X" or something like that. If memory serves, he had replaced or overwritten the original EPROMs containing the drum samples, so any sounds coming out of that unit would've been his own. It's not impossible to get close with LinnDrum samples if you process them pretty heavily. I think the Roland R8 also has a somewhat similar snare sample in there somewhere. Ironically the actual DMX samples sound pretty far off from Tom's drum sounds (at least to me).
