Rockman 500 Available

I will be parting with my Rockman 500 in the next few months. I want to give the people on this page the 2nd opportunity. I have made contacts to let Tom know it is also available 1st. Only 50 were made. This one was refurbished, but has some minor cosmetic flaws. One of 50 made. Tom owns most of them these days, and his road crew told me that when he passes, his gear will be destroyed. PSRR owns 7 and I’m told he has plans to have his go to the Smithsonian. (David, you told me directly, so if I have this wrong, please tell me). So, by my estimation, only around 15 will be around for collectors. Serious inquiries only.

I have two (sold three others, which I now regret!). But I just legally changed my last name to Smithsonian so hopefully, things are looking up for me!

Once I know whether Tom Scholz is interested and makes a fair offer, I will either sell directly to him or list it here. When I lust it, there will be pics. It was refurbished while I owned it, so it works great. I haven’t seen one sold in several years. Knowing that the one’s in Tom’s possession will be destroyed on his passing makes me hope he’s not interested. But that came right from a tech working for the band.

Since the Scholz' family has not contacted me, I 'm going to start talking to individuals who know how rare this piece is. One of 50 made. Tom is reportedly going to have all of his gear destroyed as part of his final wishes. By my count, there are probably 15 or so available to the public currently world wide. If (as you’ve stated several times) that Tom is having all of his gear destroyed on his passing, why on God’s Green Earth would you bother trying to sell this extremely rare item to him? It just doesn’t make any sense to me. While I’m attempting to purchase, refurbish and keep in (as close to possible) every item I own in mint to near mint condition, there are people out there who are interested in and apparently intentionally willing to destroy history?
This History in Music deserves to be kept mint working order and premium condition for our future generations and musicians to appreciate and experience. How does this make any sense that it should be destroyed??? Are you certain that you have that information correct? If what you say is true, then it tells me this. If there are any Original SR&D devices destroyed upon Tom’s passing as per his request, the monetary value of my personal SR&D collection will increase significantly and exponentially from that moment. I personally have no interest in selling my pieces of history to anyone who is only interested in destroying it.

I sold my entire collection of rockman gear over 3 years ago because of hearing loss. It was my choice to make my equipment available to others that I could no longer enjoy. Having been involved directly with the band implants for their personal rigs for about 10 years and organic veggies for them when they toured, I spoke frequently to stage hands and Tom’s guitar tech. The info about Tom’s gear being destroyed came from them.

When I bought my gear, I was buying EQs for under $100 used. Try to find one at that price today.
