I ordered a Behringer Ultra-DI Pro DI4000 4-channel Active Instrument Direct Box tonight after long contemplation. The reason is to provide balanced connections to the board. It's going into a simplification of previous Rockman rigs I've assembled. Here's the new breakdown:
Shelf 1: Peavey PV 215EQ
Shelf 2: Rockman Sustainor and Chorus/Delay
Shelf 3: Behringer Ultra-DI Pro DI4000
Shelf 4: Furman Power Conditioner
The PV 215EQ will have channel 1 assigned as an all return pre-EQ. Channel 2 will be assigned as a post Sustainor output-EQ before the Chorus/Delay. I'll probably control it with 3 or 4 pedals. I'll take a picture as soon as its assembled.

Re: Simplified Rig
I just assembled it. I've only done a smoke test. I powered it on and no smoke came out. Always a good start.

Ok, the simplified rig is getting more complicated... I'm hooked on the EHX chorus/flange thing. Too much Andy Summers in my musical brain.

Re: Simplified Rig
It’s actually two rigs. The Palmer pedal rig is used with my Peavey Riptide, a Telecaster like guitar. I’m now using an Epiphone Les Paul with the Rockman rack components. The levels and EQ of those guitars are very different. The rigs share the DI before going to the board.

Re: Simplified Rig
I started using my Chorus/Delay with the effects bus on my little board. It lets me use it with vocals or other instruments. I've known for a long time that you could do that. I'm just getting my equipment into a state where I can actually use it that way:
The effects send goes to the Chorus/Delay input. The stereo out from the Chorus/Delay returns through the 5/6 channels.

I came across a little rack mount mono mixer. Here's an alternative configuration where I just need a powered speaker to play live:
